Microsoft to build a 2-building data center in Castroville, adding 489,400 sqft to their already planned 2.2 millions sqft in the Texas area

- Microsoft has filed plans to construct two new single-story data centers, SAT89 and SAT90, each spanning 244,700 square feet, along Highway 90 in Medina, near San Antonio, Texas. The investment estimated at $765 million, with construction scheduled from June 2025 to August 2027. Currently, Microsoft’s active owned capacity in the Texas region stands at 3 million square feet. This expansion will increase their total owned footprint to over 5.7 million square feet, with the new facilities expected to be operational before Q4 2028.
